After the chart attack in France , "I will survive" crossed the border to Germany and was a hit in the summer of 1999. Football crowds especially picked it up and "LaLaLa" was heard all over Germany , Austria and Switzerland . "Can't take my eyes off of you" was released not long after that and also reached the charts. In Germany , the band began building its live reputation from the ground up, like they had done so many years back in Holland. 

2001 was the year of the Big Break: "Country Roads" was released in Germany , shot to #2 in the charts, occupied the Top 10 for 12 weeks and sold platinum. 

By Christmas time, England woke up and saw Country Roads entering the charts at #7, making the HHB one of only 10 Dutch artists who ever had a Top 10 in England . Worldwide, Country Roads was released in 23 countries. There's some party people out there! 

Following hits such as "Que sera, sera", "Those were the days", "Football's coming home" and "Life is Live" proved that the Hermes House Band is no one-hit-wonder, but a party band that could be around for a long time to come. 

2003 saw HHB's re-entry in the French charts. Together with DJ Ötzi we stormed to #2 and platinum with "Life is Live", the famous Opus song of the 80's. The record turned out to be one of the big summer hits from the Normandy coast to the French Riviera. Special thanks go to rugby team Stade Francais and their fans for their great support and cooperation. 

Reaching the age of 20 is a big occasion in anybody's life. But for a band, it's pretty special. Therefore, we've got some things up our sleeve to celebrate the fact that we're still here. And to make clear that our next goal is to celebrate our 25 th anniversary, and our 30 th and so on. And we hope that you'll all be there to celebrate it with us because our intentions are very simple.
